Everyone loves a good story. Recent studies have shown that humans are actually wired for stories. Our understanding of the whole world revolves around them. But it is one thing to hear a story; it is another to understand the point. Jesus said that all stories in this world have a point, but only a few take the time to discover it. This was true of the parables He told about God’s kingdom and it is true about the story God is telling through each of our lives. Will we take the time to find out the point?

Sometimes life gets disrupted. Sometimes life needs to get disrupted. And sometimes God is the One who steps in and does the disrupting. When our perspectives and priorities, habits and “have to”s get out of line or out of control and begin to cause real damage, God will step in to disrupt these things that would otherwise ruin us. He does it to give us space to reorient our priorities, reconcile our relationships, and reclaim the life and peace He intended us to know.
