Sometimes life gets disrupted. Sometimes life needs to get disrupted. And sometimes God is the One who steps in and does the disrupting. When our perspectives and priorities, habits and “have to”s get out of line or out of control and begin to cause real damage, God will step in to disrupt these things that would otherwise ruin us. He does it to give us space to reorient our priorities, reconcile our relationships, and reclaim the life and peace He intended us to know. Has God ever brought a necessary disruption into your life?

Have you ever had the experience where the results of all your hard work ended up completely underwhelming? Despite all your best planning and efforts, that business deal still went south, that home project still fell flat, those vacation plans never came together? Sometimes hard work isn’t enough. He wants us to know success but more importantly, He wants us to know what is worth being successful at. Let’s talk about it…

We want it in our marriages. But how many times do we settle only for what looks like a meaningful life? We have the appearance. We have the stunning posts and engaging stories. We have the likes and the comments that show that others are impressed. But then Jesus challenges us to take it a step further, because He takes our pursuit of life even more seriously than we do. Sometimes the greatest acts of faith come from the least expected sources. And sometimes the ones who have been around God the longest that have the hardest time believing He will do what He says He will. And the key is all about expectation. This was the one thing that the Bible tells us amazed Jesus. What are our expectations when we come to God? Let’s talk about it…

It’s human nature to adapt. And this past year and a half has forced us to do just that! In our series, Everyday Stories from the life of Jesus, this week we are talking about what Jesus considers next level living. Just like students graduate and enter that next level of adult living, Jesus encourages us to graduate to that next level of life as God intended where we move from serving only ourselves to serving others. But what’s so great about that? Let’s talk about it…

Often, old can mean “out of date,” “out of touch,” or just “irrelevant.” But God’s living Word, even though it is old, has remained vital and meaningful over several millennia. And the clearest picture of the life and power that is found in God’s Word was seen when “the Word became flesh” in the person of Jesus Christ and lived among us. Even the everyday stories from Jesus’ life are full of power, grace, compassion, all that God is. And that same life is what He desires to live out through us. No, God’s Word is not just some dusty old scroll. Let’s talk about it…
